The Flevoland Tulip Route takes place from 13 April to 5 May 2019. Enjoy the tulip flowers, the beautiful colors and discover the unique outdoor area of ​​Dronten, Lelystad and Zeewolde. There are also many fun activities along the routes.

Asparagus

Asparagus, also called ‘the white gold from the East’ is one of the delicious products that Vechtdal and Salland are known for. Traditionally with ham and an egg or a tasty butter sauce. The asparagus is widely available between mid-April and June. Daily fresh and already peeled as desired. Visit one of the many enthusiastic growers in the area or taste them at one of the restaurants in the Vechtdal.

Liberation Day

On Liberation Day, also known as Freedom Day, the Dutch celebrate the capitulation of Nazi Germany. For the Netherlands, this marked the end of World War II, even though the war had not yet ended in the rest of Europe and Asia. Liberation Day is celebrated on a grand scale with Liberation Day festivals in Amsterdam and in the twelve provincial capitals. Before Liberation Day, the Netherlands pays attention to the war victims on Remembrance day on May 4th.

National Mill Day

National Mill Day

Visit one of 950 mills that open their doors on National Mill Day. Millers make a real effort to decorate their mills as beautifully as possible with flags and flowers. A miller will take you on a tour, providing a good explanation of the type of mill you are visiting. It could happen that you will be asked to give the miller a hand in turning the sails. Fun activities are often organised for children, allowing them to become familiar with the miller’s trade in a playful way.
